Awakened by the Dreaded Phone Call this morning to be told Petey has been recalled...we go to Breslau on the 7th at 12...great ending to 2006

So of course I started bawling after I hung up, but now I'm kinda excited to see what happens..really sad, but a little excited :)

Now everyone keep your fingers crossed that he passes health!

Puppy Partay

Yesterday, Sam drove Missy, Tetley, Maggie, me, Petey, Fielder, Juneau and Calvin up to Hicksville, aka Lindsay for AmyB's party. It was chaotic madness, but quite fun with 16 dogs...let me see if I can remember them all... Petey and Fielder (the most important of course!), Calvin and Juneau, Maggie and Tetley, Zoom and Echwees, Poley, Chloe and Cliff, Zulu, Eden and Zephyr, Ashley andddd Meryl. Of course, it was overrun by labs, but we also had quite the number of poodles this year (yes Sam, you started the trend).

It was extrafun because we got to see the in-training dogs again...obviously my favourites were Calvin and Echo :P Also, it was great to meet the cutest puppy in the whole wide world, Juneau who is soooooooooooooo adorable. Even with brain damage. It was also a little sad though, cause people kept asking me about Petey's imminent recall, and knowing that I won't have him at this time of year in 2007. But anywhos, here are some pics:

The Naming of Petey

The Little Rascals is one of my favourite movies ever- how can it not be, with the cutest little kids, especially Alfalfa? I LOVE Alfalfa (the character...not the hay).

But my point is, how Petey got his name. The first time I had ever heard of Petey was when Sam told me there was a puppy in the kennels that could potentially be mine. And being the meanie that she is, she made me GUESS HIS NAME. Guessing a name with no clue whatsoever is not fun, let me tell you. So then she told me his name started with a P....still no clue. And THEN she showed me a picture of something he was named after:

Clearly, all dogs should be named Petey cause that's just what all the cool dogs are named.

Dear Producers of ABC,

I know that every series on every network is running on repeats for the next three weeks and have been for the past month. BUT can i just say that there are many disgruntled Grey's viewers out there who are going through WITHDRAWAL?? And please, don't EVEN get me started on that RETARDED idea of running half of Lost's season, putting Daybreak(??????) in there and making us wait to see what happens with Kate, Jack and Sawyer-and all of those other unimportant people. Whatevs. Anyways, I can't wait til Jan. 11 to see my favourite interns, attendings, and hot doctors again. Please never do this to us again.

All I want for Christmas...

Dear Santa,

For the love of god, could you PLEASE send us some SNOW? I'm not asking for the North freaking Pole, but a little dusting would be nice. Normally at this time of the year, we'd have at least a few inches, but this year? NOTHING!

We see it snowing, we run to the windows, disrupt class, ignore teachers because we think THIS is IT! SNOW! In DECEMBER! In TORONTO! But no- it snows for ten minutes and everything melts. I know this stupid global warming stuff is not your fault- but pleaseeeeeeeeee just send us a little snow. That is all I'm asking for this Christmas. Oh yeah, and to get into university. But that is all.

What Petey wants and doesn't want for Christmas:

According to what he whispered to me last night, Petey would like a new squeaky toy (since he destroys all of his and as a result, I don't buy any for him anymore), for all of Fielder's teeth to fall out so he can quit nipping him, andddddd most of all, NO DPC (dreaded phone call) as he would like to live with Natalie forever. Amen. He would NOT like more time outs in the crate, to be corrected for trying to steal human food (petey says "what, like that's bad or something??"), and for the dogs to yap on TV- at least be a REAL dog and come out and play.

What Fielder wants for Christmas:

Fielder would like for all his baby teeth to fall out and adult teeth to grow in already, so he can quit needing to be so mouthy, a new rope toy, as that's his favourite type of toy, and also for his brother to NOT go to university because what is life without Petey to chew on.

He would not like for yummy crayons, pencils, and paper to continue to be placed so far out of reach, accidentally falling into the bathtub, and corrections for "walking" in no semblance of a straight line.

Eatons Centre Trip...Third Time Around

You know what I realized this morning? The first time I joined this group on a puppy trip, it was to the Eaton's Centre and I had no puppies....the second time I had one puppy (Petey)...and this time, I have TWO puppies! We'll see how long this trend continues til my parents kill me :P

Anyways, so I awoke at the ungodly hour of 8:30 today to meet everyone at the subway station- AimsG and Zooooooom, AimsB and Clifford and Larry, Sam and Patty, Missy and Tetley and Maggie, LynnG, LynnT, Dee and Whim, Wendy and Zulu and Zodiak, Tina and her kids with Fairy (Fielder's sister), and bunch of other people.

At the mall I had yummy nuggets!!...and fries...and ice cream..and then a Harvey's burger. Oh my god, I'm a pig. But at least it wasn't all at the same time!!! And I also managed to get some toys for my Christmas Basket kid, so it's all good.

Introducinggggg........*drumroll please*.... POPPY!!!!!!

Poppy (aka green ribbon pup) is my female black lab godpuppy...she is obviously the cutest of the litter, but shhh don't tell the other puppies that-they're pretty cute as well. Some of you may remember David, who fosters my other godpuppy Flight. David breeds labs, some of which are donated to our school to be trained to become dogguides. Flight was one of the puppies chosen from Brin's litter to be donated to the school, and he is a tres awesome puppy. I'm sure Poppy will turn out to be the same, whether she goes on to be a future dogguide as well or becomes someone's best-pet-they-ever-had.

Today Fielder got a new collar because his other one with the snap-buckle popped open by itself, and we didn't want to risk it doing that again somewhere potentially dangerous, so we got one with the metal buckle thingy today. It's not as pretty as the one I got in Oakville =( but it's okay...

At a friend's garage sale today we got this little coatstand thing....it has these little kittens on it and they're soooo cute!!! Fielder was quite interested in them...Petey, not so much

Hockey Night in Canada!!! The game was just starting, so the national anthem was being sung. We're playing the Habs tonight in Montreal, so the anthem was in french. And Petey goes up to the tv and stands in front, cocked his head and listened to it- which he NEVER does when the anthem's being sung in english, or when its the american anthem. Clearly, he is a proud little frenchie! (For those of you who don't know, Petey's from Quebec)
