Congratulations Sam, Calvin and Amigo!!

We would like to say a huge congrats to Sam on her DOUBLE graduation last night! It was awesome to see Cally and Amigo graduate together, both with great new partners. The boys both looked so handsome in harness.
Of course, Calvin being my very best godson, I took a bajillion pictures of him, and I think this shows how excited, happy and hyper we were all feeling, in a typical Cally smile:
It was a nice ceremony, and we wish Calvin, Amigo, and their new partners the best of luck :)
Sam, the Amys, and myself then went back to Sam's for another fun Samysnat adventure. There were six dogs in the house- Baloo, Noel, Fielder, Juneau, Geisha, and Ribbon. The dogs ran around outside a while- well actually, the labs ran outside a while while Fielder milled around the bushes by himself being a loner- and then we all went back inside for dinner and then went downstairs to chill.

Amy, being the man that she is, set up all the cushions and mattresses on the floor for us, and promptly chose the biggest cushions for herself. Little did she know they were actually the smallest ones, and I had gotten the biggest ones. Somehow, I then ended up in Amy's spot in the middle, and she got the bigger ones and then didn't want to be on the outside because "that's where the Bogeyman gets people". Of course, she solved that by literally ROLLING over me in her sleeping bag (ummm ouch?) and wedged herself between me and Sam.

It was a superfun night as always, and it didn't end in the morning when I woke up to the heart attack that is opening your eyes to find a humongous dog standing over you. Good thing for me, it was the cutest dog in the house:

Baloo-bear!

To sum up the post nicely, I give you this:

The amusing crazyness that is us :)

"Kid, You'll Move Mountains"

As our teachers stepped up one by one to read from Dr. Seuss's "Oh the Places You'll Go", we sat in the chapel reflecting on our impending graduation...and then at the last paragraph, burst into tears together.

Last night was commencement, and it was beyond awesome. I somehow walked down the stairs to my seat and also across the stage without tripping. However, me being me, I managed to get in one last spectacularly embarassing moment in before the night was over. After the actual ceremony, during picture time, a group of friends and I were gathering around our music teacher for a picture. Somehow I failed to register the HUGE piano case thingy on the floor, and tripped right over it and fell on my butt. By some miracle my teacher managed to grab me by the hand as I went down and pulled me back up so I did sort of a bounce thing. Like a kangaroo. In front of all my family, friends, and their families. Go me!!

So now I'm officially a high school graduate. And I must say, it kinda sucks. My school was my second home, and it was the most tight-knit community ever. Four years of kilt wearing, and seeing how many uniform infractions one could get away with at one time. Four years of trips, concerts, performances, some prety entertaining catfights in the caf (complete with screaming and punching), and just generally hanging out. Four years of making the most amazing friends one could ask for, and countless memories.

Yes, it was an all girls school, and sometimes that just plain sucked, but for the most part it was the best high school experience I could ever ask for. No boys around meant we could be as silly and stupid and makeup-less as we wanted to. Over and over again we were told that this experience was special, that we as young women would go out and change the world. I don't think that hit home until last night- looking around at the 200 girls I've spent the last four years of my life with, I know that amazing things will come from this class because that's just the sort of people they are.

It's been an incredible four years, something impossible to sum up in words. Congrats and good luck ladies, WE DID IT!!!!!!!

So...
Be your name Buxbaum or Bixby or Bray
or Mordecai Ali Van Allen O'Shea
you're off to great places!
Today is your day!
Your mountain is waiting!
So get on your way.....

New Beginnings

Well as you can imagine, it has been quite the eventful week. Although, I am very proud of myself, I only cried once and that was today and it didn't count cause everyone in the class (including our teacher who STARTED IT) was crying. So to make my last day of high school ever very memorable, two people passed out during the day and then we had a lockdown drill during music class which freaked everyone out at first cause nobody realized it was a drill and we all thought someone was about to kick through the door and shoot us all. Luckily for myself and my friend Alison, we were wedged in between the three timpanis at the back of the classroom, and so figured that we were as safe as could be. Besides the fact that we probably picked up a million and one diseases from our disgusting school floor. All in all, a very emotional day, but the worst is yet to come....the grad mass and tea and then graduation will be killer, but for now it's time to move on and concentrate on studying for finals (yuck).

In keeping with the theme of the day, we would like to wish our friends Clifford and Tetley the best of luck in their new beginnings as they head in to school- have fun partying it up guys! We know Amy and Missy taught you well :)

Lastly, we would like to congratulate Sam and Dallas on Dallas (finally :P) becoming pregnant and so starts a new journey for the two of them. We absolutely cannot wait to meet Dallas' puppies....we also absolutely cannot wait for the puppy pool to close so we can see who guessed what!!!!! In case you haven't put in a guess yet, go here right now and do it before June 12!! I have never ever won a puppy pool before, or even a PART of one, so needless to say I am counting on Dallas' litter to finally prove I am a good guesser!! (Although the multiple choice sections of my tests may already have proven the point that I am, in fact, a very very bad guesser).

Fielder's Last Day of School

Today was Fielder's last day at school with me- I'm not going to bring him into exams because it gets really brutal in my school around that time since we have no air con....ugh. Anyways, since today was his last day, I was a tad more lenient with people petting him, especially the teachers who were nice enough to welcome him into class this year. He even got a little bone last period as a celebration :)

Chilling at lunch

It's been fun bringing Fielder in- he used to be really squirmy and a huge pain in the butt, but has gotten better- he's still a total monster sometimes, but he has definitely improved in that he'll sit still most of the time now. As my friend Lori said, "The best geo classes are when Fielder's there" which is of course, way funner than actually having to watch a documentary on boring British people talking about climate change. Ew.
Hanging around in the music room

Well Fielder, it's been a slice (haha isn't that the funniest phrase ever?)....thanks for brightening up my day everytime you come to school with me

Puppy Playdate

Even though I am under lockdown this week until my geography exam on Thursday, my parents relented when I begged them to go to Missy's for just an hour to say goodbye to Petey's favourite girlfriend Tetley, who is going to school this Friday. (And that just won the prize for longest sentence ever)

Fielder had lots of fun playing with Tetley, Missy's other foster puppy Yukon, and Whim who also came. Although he spent a lot of time in the beginning flat on his back while all the big(ish) labs mauled him, he soon started to stand up for himself. And humped everyone. And then? He lifted his leg to pee for the first time ever!!!!! It turns out my boy is actually a boy-and not a prissy girly poodle like everyone says he is. So there!

Whim the Batgirl?

Now, it is time to get back to studying....poops

Grads of the 007

Most of the grads at today's grad bbq, in civies!! aka no uniforms
Ugh....usually I dread the start of a new school week because it sucks- it's school. But this week I'm dreading it cause it's our last week of high school EVER (except for exams but that doesn't count)
Four years together about to come to an end.....I have a feeling there is going to be a lot of crying this week.
