I Love...

After the depressingness that was the last post, I thought I'd post some happy thoughts; the good parts of fostering.

I love...the puppy breath
I love...all the firsts
I love...the unconditional love a puppy offers
I love...the things they do to make me laugh
I love...the smiles they bring to strangers' faces
I love...watching their tails wag
I love...watching our hard work pay off
I love...how a small little puppy can bring out the best in people
I love...their sighs of contentment after a play, an eventful day, a bellyrub
I love...the quiet moments, the chaotic moments, the just being together moments
I love...how they're never too busy to listen
I love...their amazing ability to connect people who otherwise would never have even given each other the time of day
I love...how they're so darn cute you just want to smoosh them up
I love...looking into their warm brown eyes and seeing their little eyes light up
I love...how I love them so much sometimes I feel like I'm going to explode...or run around like a crazy person
I love...how much better of a person my dog makes me

Please add some of your own I loves..... leave me some commenty lurveee!

Petey

I'm very sorry to say that Petey has been dq'd. The call came yesterday, and of course I was bawling after. The reason was "food possessiveness" which REALLY surprised me as he never had that problem at all at home, and as far as I know, at any of his puppysitters' either. I'm chalking it up to kennel stress as I can't think of anything else that would suddenly trigger the problem.

I was pretty upset yesterday but better today. I've come to the realization and conclusion that he would never be mine again anyways (we are not adopting him back for personal reasons) so all I can do is hope and pray for him to get a new perfect family that falls in love with him ( not that that is a hard thing to do) and that he lives out a long, healthy, and most important of all happy life. And that the new family keeps in touch with us. **fingers crossed**
So best of luck to you little buddy, and hope to hear from you soon. I love you SO much <3

samysnat weekend!

The past two days have been very fun ones. Amy and Amy (after missing a train and being an hour late!!) came to Toronto and then we drove up to meet Sam and Juniper (aka Juneau). Zoom and Amy were sent to the third-row seats where she talked to herself all the way to Guelph. Cliff and Fielder had a fun time together in the front. Amy asked where Pakistan people came from. (The answer would be Pakistan). We had a really great time with Sam and Junie but it sucked that they couldn't come sleep over after :(

After we had to leave Guelph, we came back home and hung out. We had a Grey's Anatomy marathon from 8:30 to 4:30 in the morning!! So many yummy Patrick Dempsey moments!

He's not on furniture he's on Amy

Look at that adorable fur poofing out the top!

Sunday morning, Missy came over with Tetley and Yukon (Ribbon's brother) and Cliff, Zoom, and Fielder had a nice play with them. At 11 weeks, Yukon is the same size as 6.5 month old Fielder, so they beat each other up while Cliff had some humpy fun with Tetley and Zoom ate snow (and joined in on the playing). Then Missy gave us a ride downtown where we shopped for a few hours and then headed to the Sportsman Show for a shift manning our school's booth for a few hours. The highlight there was basically Olive, a 10 week old adorable fuzzy chocolate lab.

And then we went home and then Fielder died.

Hello from HALIFAX, NOVA SCOTIA!!!!

I LOVE this hotel!!!!! FREEEE Internet!!! Love love LOVE!

It has been a pretty uneventful trip thus far...minus the fact that I want to shoot myself in the face and it's only been nearly 48 hours of one on one time with the parentals. Another 30 to go! woohooo....

The plane rides were okay. Normally I hate flying with a passion but this time wasn't too bad (no puking on any of the three flights!!! proud, Sam?) I had to wake up at five freaking thirty AM Monday morning for an 8 a.m flight into Ottawa to make it there in time for the 9:30 Open House. And then today we had to fly from Ottawa to Halifax, with a layover and plane change in TORONTO!!! (geez, go figure...apparently there wasn't any direct flights)
Here are some interesting things that happened on the flights:

Toronto -> Ottawa: I spent 35 minutes of our 45 minute flight watching the little plane move across the map of Southern Ontario. And then I discovered Animal Planet. And then I spent 15 minutes watching a lion bat around a little mousie.

Ottawa -> Toronto: Slept (my favourite pastime!) , read (another favourite), and played peekaboo with a cute little random kid in the seat in front of me (Amber's favourite pastime)

Toronto -> Halifax: UBC (University of British Colombia)'s entire (very hot) male basketball team was seated RIGHT behind me. Enough said. So. Hot.
I can only hope they will be on tomorrow's flight back to Toronto...but probably not :p haha

Yesterday I was at Carleton University in Ottawa and tomorrow I am checking out Dalhousie University and their affiliate King's College. Carleton was pretty nice and I think I can see myself being there for four years....but I shall hold off the comparisons until I see Dal tomorrow.

That's all for now.....I'll be back tomorrow!!! YAY!!!!

Operation Save Me From Boredom

So I'm going away for the next couple of days avec the parentals (leaving the rest of the family at home! no pesky sister!) to check out some universities...which means..I will be stuck with just my parents for a few days! Ahhhhh!!

So here's the plan: you guys pleaseee all write longgggg posts (or short posts even! but preferably novels) to entertain me while I am hanging around at night with nothing to do!

PLEASE SAVE ME!!!!! <3

Best Friends

Came across this photo from our friend who happens to raise Fielder's sister Fawn...
This was the day I brought Fielder home, at the Open House where they were definitely the stars as the teensy weensy baby mini poodles ;)

Fielder the Teenage Drama Queen

Though he is nowhere near as crazy/hormonal as Petey was at six months (to be fair though, Fielder was neutered and Petey wasn't), he still has his moments.

Today we were practising with commands and such, and he was doing them fine. Sit, down, stay, wait, leave it, stay, down, wait, sit, sit, stay...

And then we got to down...where he had done it perfectly the last couple of times, this time he gave me the most petulant look I have ever seen out of a dog, as if he was above doing down.

"I said Down Fielder" ....no..? After I stared him down for a few seconds, he finally gave in, but instead of doing his normal downward slide to the floor, he literally THREW himself down, and flattened out with his back legs frogging out and his chin on the floor as if to say "FINE! I'll do it....but? I'M NOT GOING TO LIKE IT"

And then I laughed.

When did you want him Jo? ;) June 29th!!

Fielder the Spy

Fielder has this cute little habit of observing things before he reacts. More than once I've had a heart attack from turning around and seeing his head peeking at me from the hallway before he comes in. He's my little furry spy and I love it :)

I Hate Stupid People

So today at school this one girl (okay, well there aren't any guys, so it has to be a girl) came up to me adn asked to pet Fielder. I said no, and didn't even feel bad because I don't like this girl and Fielder was being extra spazzy today anyways. So of course, doesn't she REACH DOWN AND PET HIM ANYWAYS right in front of my face. I tell her to please don't pet him, and she stops, and then I turn around to get stuff from my locker and as soon as my back's turned I can see her reaching out to pet her again. Stupid people should go die and never pro-create. I swear I was going to hit her....not only did I tell her NOT to pet Fielder at LEAST four times, but she is really annoying.

I've also been hearing a lot of this lately: "PETEY!!!!! No....wait......you're not Petey...."How people mistake Fielder for Petey I don't even know. But I think people just see me holding a leash and react before they look at who's at the other end of it.
And also? I've officially noticed that nobody says hi/bye/talks directly to my face anymore when I have a dog with me.....it looks like my dogs are now more popular than I am. Yay.
